Cloned hamburger patties
On the TV set, the other day, the news was that a neighbouring government might be looking into legitimizing the sale of meat from cloned animals in super markets. What is worse is that when that happens there would be no label indicating where the meat came from.
I find all this so disgusting. I do not want to eat cloned meat.
However, either way (I have not yet fully decided upon my position towards this issue), I was reminded of the following (please read)
1. 1 Corinth 8:8--But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak...(you know the rest)
2. 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to...commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: FOR IT IS sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
These two verses can be applied either way--depending on whether or not you think man created these "beef cells." Or if it is God, who designed, created, and breathed life into these cells, who allowed us the means to find a way to stimulate these cells to copy themselves. Here, man is not in the picture. Rather, it is God, who allows such interactions between the cells He created and the chemicals He created.
I don't know yet--these are the two points between which I am caught at this point.
I guess adding meat to the list would just increase my chances of dying from food poisoning from 98% to 99%.
As for the manna question, see separate post.
