A very well-kept secret

What triggered this post is a remark made by the radio preacher as I drove towards the metro station this morning in order to pass out tracts. The preacher said that "the falling away" inside christian churches is the most well-kept secret today. Pastors and preachers are not willing to admit that modern-day chrisitianity is falling for every compromise and false doctrine.
A dangerously terrifying thought is found in verse 11 of the same chapter where God speaks of sending them strong delusion that they should believe a lie.
The apostasy is already here.
I think it has been with us a long time. The seeds of apostasy were present in the New Testament times. They became more clearly manifest after the death of the apostles, with the almost universal breakdown of sound doctrine. What is going on now and whatever will come is just a continuation of that same apostasy.
