Not Willing That Any Should Perish
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
I had a chance to speak to one lady today while passing out tracts at the metro. I think it's almost inevitable that while witnessing to a person that may never had heard the gospel before, to get the question "what about the people in the boonies". It's a smart and legitimate question.
I told her not to worry about them, God is a righteous judge and will judge each of us differently. However, the Bible is clear. No sinner that has not received the Lord Jesus Christ can enter his Kingdom. There is a physical hell, which was created for the devil and his angels, but our sins will take us along with them. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom. 6:23). That is why we have missionaries, and that's why the Lord commanded us and said "go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature". That is why we pass tracts, street preach and witness on an individual basis to our loved ones.
She was encouraged to read her Bible, starting with the gospel of John, and the book of Romans. I don't think she had realized how simple salvation is. We are saved by Grace. I was really happy that she took the tract (the Roman's road to heaven...that's why I encouraged her to read Romans).
That Bible is so precious. His Word covers it all. Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Amen!
God Bless
